夏の終わりと新学期の始まりとともに、Domoは恒例の「Domo Connections AI + Data Tour」に向けて準備を進めています。
今年のツアーでは、各会場でスキルを磨く機会を提供するほか、他のチームがAIエージェントやワークフローをどのように活用しているかをご紹介します。さらに、今後の展望をいち早くご覧いただけるチャンスもあります。
すでにイベントに参加された方は、いくつかの最新情報を耳にされているかもしれません。これから参加予定の方は、会場で直接体験していただけます。また、参加が叶わなかった方のために、こちらで内容をまとめてご紹介します。
過去20年間でBIの導入率は約8%から20〜30%程度まで上昇しましたが、その価値については依然として疑問が残っています。データチームのわずか49%しか、自社の業務が会社に貢献していると確信できていないのが現状です。私たちは、会話型AIこそが、より多くの人が質問し、その回答を解釈するための手段になると考えています。課題は、ガバナンスの効いたデータとビジネスコンテキストに基づいた、信頼できる体験をいかに構築するかです。
Domoの最新アップデートは、Domoのガバナンスされたデータ基盤をより多くのAIツール、アプリケーション、ワークフローに拡張することで、この課題に対処します。ツアーで紹介された機能について、現在利用可能なもの、ベータ版のもの、そして今後提供予定のものを含めて解説します。
Domoのデータ基盤の拡張
1. AIライブラリと再利用可能なツールキット
AIライブラリは、エージェントとその再利用可能なツールキットを一元管理できる場所です。データに対して適用しているのと同じガバナンスをAIにも適用できます。ツールキットには、エージェントが参照できるコンテンツや使用可能なツール、そしてエージェントの動作を制御する指示である「スキル」がまとめられています。
例えば、サポートチームが一度コンテキストを定義すれば、適切なアクセス権を持つエージェント間でツールキットを共有できます。Domoが提供するツールとCode Engineで構築したカスタムツールを組み合わせることで、チームの業務に最適な機能をエージェントに持たせることが可能です。
エージェントの設定時には、ツールキットの追加、知識の拡充、チャットインターフェースのカスタマイズが行えます。テストパネルを使えば、チームが実際に行うような質問を投げかけ、共有前にエージェントの回答を調整することができます。

2. DomoエージェントとツールキットをDomo外で利用する
Domoで構築したカスタムエージェントは、企業ポータルや普段業務で使用している環境に埋め込むことができます。また、Model Context Protocol（MCP）を通じて、Claude、Gemini、Codexなどの外部AIクライアントにDomoツールキットを接続することも可能です。ツールキットのメニューから「Use MCP」を選択すると、接続に必要な詳細情報が表示されます。
ツールキットの知識、ツール、スキルはDomo内で管理・ガバナンスされるため、確立済みのビジネスコンテキストを再利用できます。Domoへの呼び出しには、接続するユーザーの権限が適用されます。例えば、特定の地域のデータへのアクセス権を持つユーザーが外部クライアントを通じて質問した場合、その回答も同じ地域のデータに限定されます。
Domoツールキットは、他のMCP接続と併用することも可能です。サポートチームであれば、DomoツールキットとJiraへの接続を同じAIクライアントから同時に使用し、問題を調査するといった活用ができます。

3. MCPを通じたDomoの活用拡大
Domo’s initial MCP beta, released in May, let agents query DataSets and search Domo content. The September release adds Domo-provided toolkits in AI Library that let external AI clients create and manage selected Domo content.
These toolkits extend MCP access to cards and Workspaces, along with user administration and Sandbox. Builders can use their preferred AI tools to help create content their teams can use in Domo, with that work governed by their existing Domo permissions.
Additional capabilities for App Studio, Magic ETL, publishing, and embedding administration are on the roadmap. Automation capabilities involving Workflows, Code Engine, Tasks, and Forms are also planned.
Further capabilities for App Studio, Magic ETL, and Domo Everywhere publishing and embedding administration are planned in the future. Anticipated automation tools will extend that work into running business processes through Workflows, Code Engine, Task Center, and Forms.

4. Use Domo data to build working apps
The expanded MCP capabilities also support a more operational use of AI. A builder can connect an external AI client to Domo data, identify what information is available, and create an app that combines existing records with information captured during the work.
A collections team, for example, could bring together customer, invoice, and payment data while adding a form for recording promises to pay. Once a representative records a customer’s commitment, the app can track whether the promise is kept and flag the account for follow-up if it is missed.
This kind of workflow gives teams a way to capture information that previously lived in email, notes, or someone’s memory and make it available for later analysis.

Building and delivering applications
5. An AI assistant for App Studio
The upcoming App Studio AI assistant lets you describe changes in a chat right inside your app. You can ask it to update the theme across the app or add a page by explaining what it’s about and who it’s for. The assistant lays out the page, selects visuals, and connects them to your data, giving you something to review and refine in the same conversation.
The assistant is designed to reduce the manual configuration involved in building an app while keeping the builder in control of the result. You’re building on the same governed data foundation already in place in Domo, so faster app development carries that foundation’s controls forward.

6. More flexible App Studio components
App Studio is also gaining components and sharing options for different audiences.
A new KPI widget provides a reusable way to display a metric, while conditional formatting lets components and header KPIs respond to defined conditions. An AI summarization component is planned to add a written explanation alongside the numbers.
Dynamic page permissions will let builders share individual pages with specific people or groups instead of maintaining separate copies of an app for each audience. Scheduled PDF reports will deliver app content by email to colleagues who rely on regular reports.

7. Ask more complex questions in AI Chat
AI Chat is being updated to handle multipart questions and draw on multiple DataSets in one conversation. Instead of breaking a complicated request into separate prompts, you can ask several related questions at once and receive a combined response.
When a question involves more than one DataSet, AI Chat queries each DataSet separately and synthesizes the results. It does not join or union the DataSets. That means you can combine findings in an answer without creating a new DataFlow for every cross-functional question.
You can also configure a custom chat experience for an App Studio app, with the knowledge and tools selected for that audience.

8. Bring documents and visuals into AI Chat
AI Chat will also be able to use information beyond structured DataSets. Support for Domo Documents will allow stored files to contribute context to a conversation. You’ll also be able to upload a file or paste an image directly into the chat.
When an answer would be clearer as a visual, AI Chat can create a card from the analysis and add it to the current page. You can direct a conversation toward a particular source by mentioning a DataSet, while Domo’s Knowledge Base can provide instructions for completing tasks without leaving the current workflow.

Preparing data for AI
9. Carry context through Magic ETL
Context added to a DataSet should remain useful as the data moves through a DataFlow. New connector settings will allow column descriptions and other metadata to be brought into Domo from a source system.
An upcoming Magic ETL beta will allow AI-ready metadata to travel through transformations. At the output, builders can review the inherited context, add more information, or resolve conflicts when multiple sources contribute definitions.
The result is more information about what fields mean, even after data has been combined or transformed. That context can then support both human analysis and AI-assisted work.

10. Use new AI tiles and Document Collections
Magic ETL’s existing AI Text Generation tile will support both batched and non-batched processing. New Sentiment Analysis and Classification tiles are designed for more specific tasks, such as identifying the tone of support tickets or sorting documents and images into categories defined by the user.
Document Collections support, coming to beta, will extend Magic ETL to unstructured content. Information from PDFs, images, spreadsheets, and Office files can be converted into structured DataSets for use in a DataFlow and further transformation.

11. Get guidance while building DataFlows
計画中のMagic ETL AIアシスタントは、ユーザーが不慣れなデータを理解し、DataFlowを構築するのをサポートします。DataSetに対してどのような分析が有効かを尋ねたり、2つのDataSetをどのように結合すべきかを質問したりできるようになります。アシスタントは利用可能な情報を分析し、結合を設定するための手順を案内します。
初期バージョンではアドバイス機能に重点を置いています。今後の機能強化により、ユーザーに代わってアクションを実行したり、DataFlowのドキュメントを作成したりできるようになる予定です。このリリースは、今年の秋後半にベータ版として提供される見込みです。

12. DataFlowのトラブルシューティングをより簡単に
9月のカスタマーリリースにおいて、DataFlowに関する2つの改善が一般提供（GA）となります。
1つ目は、実行ヒートマップです。これにより、行数の変化やリソース使用量など、実行の各ステップで何が起こったかを確認できます。構築者はさまざまなビューを使用して、行がどこで削除または増幅されたかを特定し、予期しない結果の原因を調査できます。
2つ目は、DataFlowの以前のバージョンを、現在のバージョンに切り替えることなく確認できるようになったことです。以前のバージョンを確認した後、それを現在のバージョンとして保存したり、別のDataFlowとして保存したりできます。

ビジネスロジックの接続と変更の管理
13. Snowflake Semantic ViewsをDomoに取り込む
現在ベータ版として提供されているDomoとSnowflake Semantic Viewsの統合により、Snowflakeですでに定義済みのビジネスロジックやテーブル関係を再利用できるようになります。Snowflakeのテーブルを接続するのと同様に、Cloud Integrationsを通じてSemantic Viewを登録可能です。
Domoはコメントやシノニムを含むテーブルおよびカラムのメタデータを読み取り、それをDataSetスキーマとAI辞書で利用可能にします。テーブル間の関係性もデータモデルエディタに引き継がれます。
その結果、他のDomoデータモデルと同様に、カード、フィルター、ダッシュボード、アプリですぐに使用できるようになります。Snowflakeで確立した定義をDomoで再作成することなく、そのまま活用できます。

14. AI利用料の追跡と外部システムへのデータ書き戻し
Anthropic、Cursor、OpenAI向けの新しい管理用コネクタにより、請求および利用状況の情報がDomoに取り込まれます。チームはこれらの情報を活用してAI利用料を監視したり、ダッシュボードを作成したり、月間の利用状況の変化に応じてアラートを設定したりできます。
また、JSON書き戻しコネクタにOAuthおよびAPIキー認証が追加されました。これにより、Domoからデータを書き込める外部APIの幅が広がります。
どちらのアップデートも現在利用可能であり、コミュニティの皆様から寄せられたご要望にお応えするものです。

15. コネクタ設定の再利用と変更の追跡
Upcoming connector improvements will make it easier to reuse configurations and understand changes over time.
Export and import support for JSON connector configurations will allow teams to save a working setup to a file, share it with a colleague, and reuse it with the appropriate credentials. Planned schema-change alerts will notify teams when a DataSet’s structure changes in a way that could affect downstream assets.
Connector notes and configuration history will provide additional context about how a connection was set up and what has changed.

Organizing everyday work
16. Organize everyday work with navigation and Workspaces
The new left navigation and Workspaces are already generally available in Domo. The latest updates build on what they can do.
And coming to beta in October, enhanced pinning will let people create pins, folders, and subfolders more directly within the navigation. Smart folders will gather content according to criteria such as content type, ownership, or recency, while respecting permissions.
Also, permissions-aware navigation configurations will let administrators create a navigation structure that adapts to what each person can access. A new Workspace tray will let users browse folders and open content without losing their place in the navigation.
