We’re excited to announce the new enhancements for Domo Workflows designed to improve the overall user experience and make creating workflows more efficient.

Canvas Facelift

The Workflow Design Canvas just got a makeover! Improved organization, navigation, and design aesthetics provide a more cohesive look and feel to the design canvas. You’ll see updates like new icons for shapes and data types, collapsible sections, stacked mapping fields and parameters, and more—blending visual finesse with functional efficiency to elevate your user experience.

Form Message Start & Workflow Widget

We’ve revolutionized manual workflow initiation, streamlining the process with a new form-based approach. When initiating a workflow, end users will now see a clear and easy-to-use form, and any changes made within this form will automatically update the starting parameters. For Workflow Canvas designers, you have the option to view how the starting parameters will be displayed in a form, giving you greater customization capabilities and control of the end user’s view.

For even more flexibility, App Studio users can leverage our new Workflow Widget. Previously, the button option in App Studio would allow you to connect to a workflow; however, the starting values were hard-coded—every time you clicked the button, the same data was submitted to start the workflow. Now with the Workflow Widget, once you submit a form, the form resets, and you can enter a different set of values and kick off a workflow with different data. Simply drag and drop the widget into your app to render a starting form for a specified workflow. Once the form is complete and submitted, the corresponding workflow will be started.

These new forms ensure a seamless, intuitive, and consistent workflow initiation experience regardless of the starting point.
