AI Chat Updates

We are excited to share major updates to AI Chat that make it faster and more capable than ever. We have completely reimagined the conversational experience to be much more than a simple search with features that allow you to bring any context directly into your chat, ask complex questions across multiple DataSets and Documents, and build dashboards or charts directly from your conversation.  

Gathering context is now as simple as @ mentioning DataSets, Dashboards, Cards, Apps, or Document collections directly in your prompt input, copying and pasting images, or uploading local files to analyze unstructured data on the spot. Behind the scenes, the engine can analyze separate DataSets independently and merge the results without complex joins, letting you ask complex, multi-part questions that span completely different data sources.

Beyond data exploration updates, AI Chat can now actively build assets for you. You can instantly preview interactive chart drafts and deploy them to your pages with a click, or let the chat delegate complex tasks to specialized sub-agents across App Studio, Magic ETL, and Code Engine. Every result aligns with your active dashboard filters and Beast Mode configurations, so your numbers always match the numbers on your screen.  

Additional updates include:  

• Custom chat: Admins can replace the default AI Chat with specialized custom assistants configured for specific apps or entire accounts.  

• Workspace focus: AI Chat automatically aligns its context based on the specific workspace or page you are currently viewing.

• Sustained conversations: Enjoy longer interactions that retain context, including previous tool calls, across many turns.  

• Non-data questioning: Ask about general topics and get real answers, rather than a refusal.

• DomoStats AI Operations Report: See a complete breakdown of every Domo AI Pro operation in a single report.

• Knowledge Base Support: With access to Domo’s Knowledge Base, you can ask Domo-specific questions to troubleshoot or find answers without leaving your active chat window.
