Yes, folks, the Olympics are upon us again. If you're like me, you're thinking, "Wait, didn't the Olympics just happen?" That's not your mind playing tricks on you, though. You're thinking that because the answer is, "Yes."

Normally, the Olympics happen every two years. But because the 2020 Tokyo Summer Olympic Games were delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Beijing 2022 Olympic Winter Games have already begun—just six months after the Tokyo Games.

If you remember from a post we did back in July, the Domo on Data team loves watching the Olympics. (I feel sorry for my couch already.) So, we decided to bring back the Domo Historical Olympic Medal Tracker (DHOMT), and update it for the Tokyo and Beijing Games. The DHOMT will update daily throughout the Beijing Games, so the medal counts will be accurate at the end of each competition day - once they start awarding medals.

We have defaulted the view below to take a look at the Winter Games, where the United States drops from 1st to 2nd behind the mighty lung-ed Norwegians in the historical medal count. Of course you can filter any way you want. Enjoy!
