The Biggest Product Announcements from Domo Connections: AI + Data Tour 2025 Recap | Domo

Summer may have come to an end, but we still have time to squeeze in one last trip before we say “hello” to the holidays. That’s why we’ve hit the road again for our annual tour, with stops across the country planned through October.

The Domo Connections: The AI + Data Tour is your chance to learn directly from Domo experts how to level up your skills so you can work with our AI tools for data teams more efficiently and effectively. You’ll also be able to hear from customers who will walk through real-world use cases that may set off some lightbulbs for you and your business. We’re giving the Domo community a forum to connect in person and see the power of data in action.

If you’ve already missed your stop or won’t be able to make one of the other stops on the tour, we’ve got you covered. Current customers can always reach out to our customer service team, who will be able to get you the training you’re looking for, while those new to Domo are welcome to connect with our sales representatives, who can provide you demos of all of the amazing features that our AI-powered data tools offer.

Speaking of features, we know one of the most popular parts of our tour is our rollout of the latest product updates and innovations we have planned. For those looking for a glimpse into the future of Domo, you’re in luck because we’ll be recapping some insights right here!

New features and AI announcements from Domo

At Domo, we prioritize the experiences of our customers. The enhancements we make to our data and AI products are often the result of direct feedback from you. We want you to be able to create something sophisticated while keeping the process simple. We’ve designed these updates to ensure that using Domo continues to feel intuitive and user-friendly.

1. App Studio: Our new App Studio editor provides a streamlined editing experience that saves you time and reduces the number of clicks you need to perfect your data products. The improved editor and Analyzer integration offer a streamlined left pane for quick access to tables, charts, and components, plus a larger workspace to work in. You can now make in-line edits to charts—like changing types or adding data series—directly from the right-side pane. It’s also much simpler to build charts: just select your columns, set date ranges, add calculations, and apply filters all in a single flow. Plus, undo and redo options are now built in, making it easier to experiment and refine your work.

2. App Component editor: The new App Component editor lets you create visuals beyond charts and graphs, using pro-code–style components with an intuitive drag-and-drop interface. Choose from templates for different component types, like a gallery, list, grid, or banner, and customize the settings to your liking.

3. Editable and Linked tables: With editable tables, you can enter or update data directly in your app—with features like drag-and-drop, copy-paste, formatting, and quick chart creation, all with real-time updates. Linked tables let you combine Domo data with your own insights in a single view. You can define keys, add custom columns, make forecasts, and keep everything in sync as your data changes. These enhancements make it faster and more collaborative to explore, edit, and visualize your data—all seamlessly inside Domo

4. Worksheets: For all the Excel lovers out there, we're excited to introduce Worksheets. It’s a flexible and intuitive tool designed for those who love exploring data in the familiar environment of a spreadsheet. Worksheets is perfect for lightweight analysis, and when you’re ready, you can easily transition to building polished apps with your data.

5. Multi-account connectors: With multi-account connectors, you can now set up one data set that pulls information for multiple connector accounts. Power up and configure the connector once, then select the accounts you’d like to run the connector for, allowing you to quickly run a report. Domo will take care of ingesting data for all the accounts and unifying it into a single data set.

6. Duplicate DataSets: If you want to make a copy of a Domo DataSet or use an existing DataSet as a template for other DataSets, you no longer have to do it manually. With the “duplicate DataSet” feature, you can easily create a new DataSet with the same settings as the original.

7. Connectors for Parquet: Amazon S3 connectors are popular with Domo users because they allow for easy ingestion of files in various formats. We know that many systems export and exchange data in Parquet format, which is why we're excited to extend the S3 connector suite to also allow you to ingest Parquet files natively.

8. Collapsible Formula editor: For our Magic ETL users, it came to our attention that the Formula tile lacked space. We’ve given you the flexibility to clear the tile with a simple click of the accordion, which removes the less-used documentation.

9. Recovery for Dataflow: For users who have accidentally closed a Magic ETL DataFlow without saving, you’ll be happy to know that losing hours of work is now a thing of the past. We’ve implemented the ability to recover unsaved changes from your last session to a DataFlow, which you can find in your banner.

10. Disable tiles: Do you have a series of formulas that someone at your company wrote long ago during the Ice Age that you’re pretty sure you don’t need, but would feel safer keeping? We’ve implemented the ability to disable tiles within your flow. Once disabled, you can simply leave them in place or move them to another part of the canvas.

11. AI Text Generation tile: AI can be especially useful for parsing through blocks of text, providing summaries, sentiment analysis, and categorization. With the new AI Text Generation tile in Magic ETL, you can make quick work of those large text files, even translating text that isn’t written in your primary language.

12. AI SQL Assistants: Some people need a little help writing SQL or building formulas. Our SQL assistants throughout Magic ETL will help you transform your data “in your own words.” In the SQL tile and the expanded formula editor, you can simply make your request, and our SQL Assistants will write the code for you.

13. Window functions: When we released the SQL tile at Domopalooza 2025, we promised to follow up with additional support. Now, you can perform more complex analyses with those promised window and analytics functions in the SQL tile.

14. JSON Expander tile: This revamped tile gives you the ability to parse JSON code out of a column in your data set. Use the JSON Expander tile to auto-configure the JSON into a tabular data set so you can then perform further analysis on it. You can also manually unpack the JSON objects and arrays in whatever way works for your use case.

15. Fixed Input tile: Use this tile to type your own data, copy and paste from another source, or even load an Excel or CSV file. As if that wasn’t enough, we’ve incorporated AI features into the tile to allow AI to generate your sample data for you. This tile should make your development process faster and easier.

16. Add from Canvas” feature: How would you like the ability to add a tile directly from the canvas without having to drag and drop it from the left actions pane? The new “add from canvas” capability allows you to do just that with a couple of clicks. Simply click the plus button to the right of any tile and choose your tile. Both a search box and a list are there to help you easily find the tile you want.

17. Split Join tile: We’re excited to introduce two new tiles for you: the Split Join and Split Filter tiles. The Split Join tile gives you the option to see beyond the results of what joined between the two tables; you can now see what didn’t join from each of the tables, as well as other combinations of outer joins. Specify which outputs you want to populate from the tile, and the tile will grow to accommodate.

18. Split Filter tile: No more configuring an endless row of filter tiles when you’re performing multi-stream analysis. The Split Filter tile allows you to define and name any number of split streams coming from the tile. There’s even an “else” bucket you can toggle to, which shows everything that may be falling out of your filters.

19. Column PDP: With Column PDP, you can now control the type of access that users and groups have to data in each column. Once you create a policy, you can map it to one or more columns. Because the data is masked rather than hidden entirely, you have more flexibility when giving your users appropriate access to the data.

20. Data Refresh Permissions: Create Data Refresh Permission policies to maintain more control over the Connector and DataFlow scheduling options available to your users. Data Refresh Permissions don’t affect executions, so data owners can request a higher frequency schedule to be set by a user with less restrictive policies.

21. Data model editor: Data models can now be created and managed in the visual editor where Domo or Cloud data sets can be dropped in and connected by dragging to create relationships between fields. Simply add data sets by clicking the appropriate button; it’s also easy to delete data sets when needed.

22. Agents in Workflows: Domo’s AI agents automate tasks for people or systems by using the tools and data you provide, all within a Workflow step. We recently launched a new user interface for the agent model, which provides an intuitive, easy to follow path for setting up your agent, including a new Knowledge Tab that allows you to select data sets, directories, documents, images, and more to provide the agent with necessary context.

23. FileSets: FileSets allow you to upload, store, and manage files, like spreadsheets, images, documents, and other unstructured data, directly in Domo, so you can use them as data sources for analysis and automation. Once enabled, your files will become accessible to Domo AI, which helps AI Chat and other agents provide more accurate insights.

24. Automated Insights: Take advantage of your own personal data scientist that turns the metrics you care about into real-time, actionable analysis. Built from layers of smart data agents, Automated Insights sifts through your chosen measures and time dimensions to surface the most relevant patterns and recommendations so you can make smarter decisions with minimal effort.

25. Cloud Integrations: Query directly from, load directly to, and process directly on your cloud data warehouse. Domo supports integrations with 12 engines, including analytical warehouses and transactional databases. And we’ll be extending capabilities to other engines, based on customer demand.
