Card Embed Enhancements

Embedding a single Domo card into an external site or app has long relied on our embed framework, which renders cards through Domo's mobile web experience. That approach limited how closely an embedded card could match the rest of Domo, restricted which card types could be embedded, and made it hard to blend an embedded card into the look of your own site.

New enhancements to Card Embed replace that foundation with the same rendering engine used when you expand a card inside Domo itself. This helps you align embedded cards more closely with the in-product experience while unlocking new customization along the way.  

These new enhancements include:  

• Consistent, in-product look and feel: Embedded cards now render using the same UI you see when you expand a card inside Domo, so what your end users view matches what they'd see natively.

• Granular sidebar controls: Choose exactly which controls appear on an embedded card. New Show Segments, Show Quick Filters, and Show Variables checkboxes in the card embed dialog let you selectively expose sidebar functionality, so end users only see the controls you want them to have. These controls are off by default.

• Custom colors to match your brand: Pass backgroundColor, scaleLineColor, and textColor parameters on the embed URL to style an embedded card to match your site's theme.  

• Broader card support: Extend support to notebook cards and smart text so more of your Domo content can be embedded outside of Domo.

• One token, two URLs: The embed token modal now returns both the old and new embed URLs from a single authentication call, giving you a supported path to adopt the new URL, or run both versions side by side, without any extra requests.

Card Embed v1 is being deprecated. Existing v1 embeds will continue to work during the transition window, but we recommend migrating to the new Card Embed URL as soon as possible using the updated embed link shown in the Card Embed modal.
